- "Parallel-Kinematics-Consortium"
Since the first presentation of Hexapod-machines at the 1994 International
Manufacturing Technology Show held in Chicago, the industrial application of
Parallel-Kinematics-Machine design is beginning to emerge. There are a few machine
tool builders who have made a serious commitment to the commercial development of the
technology as well as a number of prototype designs in various industrial and university
laboratories. As of today no Parallel-Kinematics machines have been thoroughly benchmarked
under industrial conditions and as a result, potential users do not have the technical and
economical data available to evaluate this new machining technology.
